"Don't eat crap," is what I heard twelve years ago when I met a life-changing mentor and teacher, Ron Morris. His motto was simple. Eat food that's clean and real. This meant if your food came in a can or a box, don't eat it. I learned a lot from this one man. It was life transforming.
One thing that Ron knew and passed on to his students was the secret ingredient to transforming your body. Eat a diet rich in proteins, good fats which included nuts and seeds, lots of veggies and some fruit in combination with all sorts of physical movement. That's it. Uncomplicated, straight forward and basic, just like the man himself.
Weight loss, fat loss, and lean muscle growth are 80% food choices, 20% exercise. Within three months of training with kettlebells and eating this simple food plan, my body composition changed drastically. People who knew me thought I had lost 25 lbs (although the scale showed 8 lbs) because I looked lean and ripped.
I was radiating joy and confidence. I went from being closed-off to the world to open and social. I had found my home.
Inspired and changed forever by the impact Ron had on my life, I went on to become an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach and to teach Ron's basics principles of body transformation to my students and clients. I opened up my own studio so that I could spread the love and create a space for others to transform as well. Now I am getting to help so many people who are ready to change just as I was 12 years ago. The winning combination of "don't eat crap" and move your body were valuable lessons learned twelve years ago that continue to work for me and my clients today.
